This Privacy Policy explains how LinkTranscript ("we", "us") handles information when you use our transcript tools.

URLs you paste

When you submit a YouTube URL, that URL is processed to fetch the video's publicly available captions and generate a transcript. The request is handled on our servers and may be sent to YouTube to retrieve the caption data.

Transcripts and storage

Transcripts are generated on demand and are not tied to you. To avoid fetching the same captions over and over, we keep a cache of recently requested transcripts keyed by the video, for up to 30 days; the cache holds the transcript, not who asked for it. Nothing you paste creates an account or a profile.

Prompts and AI assistants

The Prompts menu and the Open in ChatGPT button copy text to your clipboard and, for ChatGPT, open a new tab. LinkTranscript does not send transcripts to any AI provider itself. What you paste into a third-party assistant is governed by that provider's privacy policy, not ours.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized, aggregate usage data (for example, page views and which features are used) to improve the product. This does not include the contents of transcripts. Google Analytics may set cookies and process data as described in Google's policies.

Advertising

We may display advertising provided by third-party vendors, including Google. These vendors use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
• Third-party ad vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads on this site, governed by their own privacy policies.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not have accounts, so there is no profile of you to sell. Where ads are shown, ad vendors may use cookies to personalize ads across sites, which some US state laws treat as "sharing." You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings (linked above), through the consent controls shown to visitors in regions that require them, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser. The tool works the same either way.

Cookies

The core tool works without requiring login cookies. Cookies may be set by our analytics provider and, where ads are shown, by advertising vendors as described above. Most browsers let you control or disable cookies in their settings. Any future accounts or saved-history features may use cookies necessary for that functionality.
